Une Pause

A nourishing space for reflection, expression and intentional living.

What is this sense of loss I feel when I’m sad?

What am I grieving?

Is anything ever truly lost?

The past is safely locked up in my heart’s chamber, where I can relive it as many times as I’d like to.

I can go back to all of it at any time; the warmth, anticipation, kindness, excitement and support. It lives within me forever.

If it’s within me, is it ever lost?

And as for the future, it hasn’t happened yet. So what about this unseen and unexperienced future have I lost?

This feeling of lack is the culprit. It’s an illusion that is convincing, indeed.

But it’s just an illusion.

Nothing is ever truly lost.

Quite the opposite.

My spirit is a treasure chest full to the brim with exquisite experiences, deep emotions and powerful realizations that live in me.

Unlimited access to them, at any time of the day.

What the mind attaches itself to is the conduit, which we think of as the Source for generating the experiences that we hold dear.

By attaching memories and experiences to those who gave them to us, we disconnect from the infinite Source, and instead tune into the finite.

We begin to believe that the conduit is the only means of experiencing such ecstasy.

But that is not true.

Far from it.

When has the finite ever been able to stand across the infinite?

Can a stream compare to an ocean?

There is much to be experienced, if only we’d align with the Source.

Be still, my heart. For there are plenty more riches to be added to the treasure chest.
